FotoFlashback 001

Photo dump time! Woo woo!

Ugh, I adore these shoes, but I feet want to commit suicide every time I wear them.

The ground. It looks neat when there's water on it.

Om nom nom.

I got a bunch of these awesome huge gems at a dollar store in Japan. Score!

Hanging out at the cemetary.

Look at this juicy fellow I met in Oakland. Isn't he handsome?

I am trying out to be a go-go dancer tomorrow, and I really want to know why it is still, in the year two thousand and ten going on two thousand and eleven, fashionable for dancers to wear monster fur leg warmers. Isn't that a bit late 90s? Why are these still the preferred legwear for hot sexy dancers to be wearing? What is it about the calves and ankles that need so much coverage and protection, and do men really look at legs clad in neon pink fur and think "Damn, her legs are SO HOT when they're furry!" I, for the record, do not own any and will not be wearing them to the audition. I'm just gonna wear highlighter yellow over the knee socks and hope they don't knock off points for having legwear that actually take the form of my legs.

Wish me luck!

'Fitted Up: 121510

Hello brosephs!

For it being a "style" blog, there isn't a whole lot of my style going on in here, is there? What I actually mean by style though, isn't just pertaining to my fashion style... every person's style is comprised of clothes, yes, but also hair, their taste in music, personality, whether they like bacon or not (don't argue with me on this, this is relevant) and so on. But a large part does have to do with fashion choices, so I'm gonna start posting more "'fits" in here. The lighting in my room makes everything look like God peed all over a see-through paper and told you to look through that, so it's been some what of a challenge to get good pictures in. But I shall try! For the love of the people. Yeah, right. We all know the only person I do this for is me, but you know, it makes people feel less vain when they say "oh, but people want to see what I wear", so I'm using that too.

I wore this to go celebrate a dear friend Jessica's belated birthday. Funny story, we had a friend with us who is WELL above legal age (I'm talking over 35 years old) and he couldn't get into a Dave and Busters. What! Yeah, so we ended up going to a dive bar, which was fine. It doesn't upset me that I wasn't able to buy overpriced drinks and play video games. You would think, but no. So happy belated, Jess! Hope you had a swell evening regardless of all the drama.

I'm still struggling with CSS coding and trying to get my domain situated, which is proving to be more of a pain than I anticipated. But soon, good citizens! I shall have that going, and I can say goodbye to blogspot.

Ciao!

Make-Up Party chez Miss Kika!

Artwork of my friend MissKika!

Does her style look familiar? That's because she's responsible for the artwork that's on the Sugarpill packaging! We love her. :]

Let me tell you how much I enjoy putting make up on my friends. A whole lot. Yeah. This is because I have the cutest friends in the whole world. That, and they let me do whatever I want! Being a make-up artist isn't much fun for me and I mostly just do it for the $$$ cash monies. The exception is if I get to make over my friends or do fun make-up events such as the JapanLA x Sugarpill make-over party earlier this year.

Yeah, that was fun. (Picture stolen from Amy!)

So yesterday Liz, better known as the artist behind Miss Kika invited me over to her place for play time with make-up. Fun! Lucky for you, I have pictures to share.

Surprise surprise, Sugarpill in the house!

Everyone say hi to the before shot of Liz! Liz has the cutest apartment ever but they're packing up to leave for Korea, so there's boxes everywhere. I mean, they like to decorate their house with brown cardboard boxes because they're artists and it's artistic.

And after! I also used her new fancy ghd straightener to curl her hair. I sort of really want one now.

You so pretty, Liz!

Make-up shot. I use this color combo way too much. Way. Too. Much.

Haha, kept catching her mid sentence.

Her fancy ball chair! I'm going to steal it when they move and put it in my tiny room. Do you think i'll be able to sleep comfortably in this? I'm going to say yes.

What I Used:

Exciting Times: Japan 2010!

If I had a dollar for every "are you Japanese? Do you know harajuku girls?" I got, I would have gone to Japan and back 10 times already this year, instead of the one time I got to go in early spring with the Bubble Punch girls, True Mee & Michelle as well as their respective boyfriends. Funny (well, no. Not funny) that no one in Japan thought I was Japanese at all, imagine that.

This was a "first of a kind" trip for me, as prior to this trip I've never gotten wasted in another country. You can thank this trip for opening my virgin eyes - you will find Drunk Tess in many more countries to come in the future! Here's just a very few of the pictures I took. More of my favorites can be found on my Flickr page.

Lucky for us, we were there just in time for all the sakura trees to be in bloom. Oh Japan, you totally know how to turn on your charms!

The happy couples I traveled with. I heard the term "5th wheel" a lot while we were there, does anyone know what that means? Because I sure don't.

Hanging out with deers in Nara was probably one of the best moments of my entire life.

And that shirt I'm wearing is one I purchased while we were there. It reads "BALLER. I was ever a REDNECK. PEACE OUT". What?

Is this what you call "decora"ed out?

The day we decided to go to Tokyo Disney Sea was the day Japan decided to have the worst weather ever with rain and freezing winds. My souvenirs from TDS are a blanket and 2 extra thick socks. All of which came to use as soon as they were purchased.

Sugarpill in Japan?! Goin' worldwide baby! No, but isn't this girl adorable? She totally recognized me from my Myspace days and as soon as I gave her that sticker she asked about Shrinkle! Next time I go to Japan I'm going to bring my magic wand and shrink her so I can fit her in my pocket to take home with me.

So go check out the rest guys of my pictures, guys. Also, My BFForever True Mee got me my own domain so I will be launching messwithtess.com very soon. She should win Nobel Peace Prize, that one. Anyway, have a good one!

FOTD: Chillin!

I love supporting and promoting my friends. Especially if they're super talented and gorgeous friends eg. Cutie Dynamite aka Andrea! She had a booth at the Chillin' Productions Holiday Show in SF, so Amy and I suited up and went to be obnoxious booth girls! Just kidding, we weren't there to be booth girls. we just hovered next to the booth - but seeing as Amy was wearing exactly 2,802 Cutie Dynamite merchandise on her head, she was more or less the CD spokesperson anyway.

I was feeling very blue that day (har har) so here's what I looked like on said night.

And a bonus outfit shot for you! Because I like you.

What I Used:

Sugarpill -
Afterparty
Poison Plum
Tako
Lumi
Bulletproof

Make Up For Ever -
HD Foundation
Full Cover Concealer
Mist & Fix

Other -

Still trying to get a handle on blog formatting!! I made the pictures bigger (ugh, 400 max width blogspot? Really?!) and will be tweaking more as I go. If anyone has any suggestions on what they want to see etc., leave me a comment!

Brand new!!

It's happened you guys! my bblloooooooggg is here! I rationalized my temporary distraction from my job hunt by saying to myself "it's okay dude, you've been doing something PRODUCTIVE! You are finally getting your blog in gear and reaching for the stars!"

So, here we are! Hello, fine citizens. I've actually had a bit of a discouraging delay that made me want to drive rampantly around my town blaring Yelawolf and rapping along with his songs emphasizing every profanity starting with an F at the top of my lungs... but I got through it without doing this community a total disservice. Oh, and speaking of Yelawolf:

Hold on, give me a minute to stare. Okay. So, anybody that has had any form of contact with me in the past two weeks will tell you that I am totally completely stupidly insanely annoyingly heart-achingly obsessed with this good fellow here from Gasden, Alabama. He. Is. So. Hot you guys. I have heard many disapproving judgmental sighs from my friends, to which I proudly say: I am not ashamed of having poor taste in men and music!!! His lyrics are pretty bad, I'm not gonna lie, but there's something really sexy about a guy that's that proud of his redneck ass background. Plus, what he lacks in lyrical content he makes up in his ability to flow. Okay, I feel really stupid saying flow, I'm not cool enough to say shit like that. But yup, he's the apple of my eye at the moment. Plus, his new album is sooooo good. My friend Jessica let me have a listen to it and I have been listening to it non-stop.

and to demonstrate how perfectly hot and off his rocker he is:

What you can look forward to in this blog is everything from the make-up that I do, style & design elements I've got a mental hard-on for at the moment, things that I'm really obsessed with (see example above) and what I've been doing with my awesome friends and life. Well actually, any of that is liable to change at any given time. But this is what I'm aiming for right now. As Wolf once quoted a friend in saying: "your inconsistency is your consistency". I'm stealing that, thanks Yelawolf's friend!
